Mudslingers Things You Need To Know

What’s a Patrol?

The Mile-Hi Jeep Club is divided into groups called patrols.  Each patrol has a different style of wheeling. Some prefer short day trips, and some love to RV up in the mountains for the weekend. Some prefer easy to moderate trails, and some like to compete in rock-crawling events.

How do I join a patrol?

When you join the club, you need to choose a patrol that suits you. Ask around at a club meeting and see how people describe their own patrol. Some patrols have minimum requirements such as the number of meetings you have to attend before you can join.  Each patrol is different.  Some like easy trails, others like to run extreme.  At parent club all patrol leaders wear name badges to make them easy to spot and will give a short description of their patrol during the membership section of parent club.

Do I need to be a member to go wheeling with you?

For the first few trails, you don't need to be a member. You are encouraged to join if you like the club and would like to continue attending our events.

Do I have to own a Jeep to become a MHJC member?

No, if you vehicle has 4-wheel drive , you're welcome to join.

Patrols are encouraged to host events for the parent club.  Over the past few years we have hosted several events.  Our favorite event is Aspencades.

We have several planned weekends each year.  This really gives you the opportunity to relax with friends and enjoy the scenery and wheeling our state offers.  We typically spend every Memorial Day near St. Elmo playing in the snow as it rapidly melts off of the trails.

Each year the aspen trees in Colorado turn a beautiful gold.  We celebrate this change with a weekend event called Aspencades.  The event is held in September during the turn.  We run trails especially rich in the golden colors of the aspens and back at camp after the trips we have a big barbeque and bonfire where we tell lies and talk about the summer.  Click on the aspens to see some of the pictures from past years events!
